At first I was lazy to post this
up, however I think this is worth the blog post. My second Paramore Concert!!
Definitely one to remember.
The radio stations were busy
advertising the Paramore concert that was to be held on the 17th of
February 2013(Sunday). Remembering those days, my sister would participate in
the radio station competitions to try her luck on winning free tickets or would
look up the net to purchase the tickets. Sadly, this time around, she’s in New
Zealand and wasn’t here with me. So there goes my hope of attending the concert
as my mom would prefer me to attend a concert with my sister.
I last heard the radio advertisement
on Friday and gave up hopes on attending the concert. As I slept that very
night, I received a message at 4 in the morning. Not knowing it was from my
sister regarding this free invitation to watch Paramore live in KL. I kind of
ignored the notification and continued my sleep. (I’m such a pig) Upon waking
up and reading the message, I thought this was my chance to attend the concert,
what more to ask? It’s free!! Plus, it’s a freaking “Rock Zone” ticket!! Life-size
performance!! Lololol!!
Then I came to know that my
sister had already sent and e-mail to the organiser stating that I would be representing
her for the invitation. Oh yeah!! It was my chance to watch them again. Boy I
was excited!! After all the mini planning and discussion, I was assured 2
tickets, this is the hard part now. Who to invite??
So on Saturday night, I was
messaging two of my closest of friends, but they turned down the offer. One of
them then suggested that I should invite Charmaine (Friends since Foundation)
to the concert as she was a huge fan of Paramore. So why not? It’s on then!!
Problem settled.
On Sunday; that is, the day of
the concert, I packed my things and headed back to my university. It’s the end
of the Chinese New Year break. I was pretty reluctant to leave as I wanted to
stay home and spend time with my family. Sigh… So while driving up, I blasted
my phone with Paramore’s songs hoping that it would create the buzz in me. Well
it certainly did as I sang along to the songs through the entire journey up.
Not long after I reached my
second home; that is in Semenyih, Charmaine and I left for the concert at 3pm.
As we were worried about the traffic, we left 4 hours before the start of the
event. The trip there was fun as we once again played Paramore’s songs. Oh
yeah!! Eventually, we reached our destination at 4pm with the help of my sister’s
guided map (Thank you so much!!) and the aid from Charmaine’s GPS.
As we reached the venue, many had
already camped right in front of the Rock Zone ticket area. They were pretty
hipster alright. Lolol!! I also met a few of my Melaka friends as well. Well I
was told to line up early as it would be better to be right in front of the
stage definitely. Nevertheless, we still had to wait until our invitation
tickets were given out. While waiting, we took pictures and also bought a
Paramore shirt. Boy it was costly!! 90 bucks!! My goodness. Nevertheless, it’s
not often that I’ll get a chance to purchase a shirt like that.
Our tickets were not given out
until 6pm. Feeling honoured to be a guest for that event, we waited at the “Invited
Guest” booth. As they were giving out the hand bands, there was a problem as
they only allocated 1 ticket under my name initially although the e-mail stated
that I’ve 2 tickets. After some discussion with the organisers, I was allocated
two tickets. Phew!! Boy I was a wee bit worried then.
As soon as we got our hand bands,
we line-up as the crowd was getting bigger and harder to control as many were
pushing in order to get in. It was pretty rowdy at one period but soon it all
subsided. Had to say that the entrance system at Stadium Negara wasn’t as good
as the one at Stadium Bukit Jalil. It was way more efficient there. While
waiting, I remembered that we were not allowed to bring bottles in, so I
quickly ran to the car and kept it safe. Lolol!! (Had to mark down everything;
so that I can recall the whole event when I read it again)
As we entered the stadium, it was
already 7pm. We were amazed by the how close we were to the stage. Boy we were
astounded. We went slightly towards the corner of the stage where we closer to
the stage. We camped there for 30 minutes while we waited for the opening act
while hearing the conversation of some young probably Australian teenagers who
were so excited. Soon, the opening act started with the performance by mewithoutYou.
They were some new American band. I didn’t quite enjoy their performance as it
was a wee bit disturbing. Lololol!! However the beat was awesome!!
After roughly 8 songs from
mewithoutYou, Paramore finally hit the stage!! Oh yeah!! At last!! What
everyone was waiting for!! Haha!! If I’m not mistaken they started with Now;
that is, their latest single. Good song it was!! As the performance started,
the jumping started!! So was the shouting and singing too!! It was so
happening!! It was awesome!! Fantastic!! Whee!! Not to mention, I was also
recording for my sister. Haha!!
Other songs that they performed
was Brick by Boring Brick, Careful, Ignorance, Fences, The Only Exeception,
Decode, Let the Flames Begin and also including their singles from their
Singles Club; such as, Renegade, Monster, In the Mourning and Hello Cold World.
And lastly, the finished of the
night with no other song than Misery Business!! She called up probably the luckiest
girl (Lucy hope I get the name right) there as she had the chance to
sing with Paramore on stage!! She’s “Lucky Lucy”. Boy I wish I was as lucky as
her. It’s super awesome!! Super good end to probably the best concert so far!!
It was awesome from the start to the end as Hayley was a pretty good
entertainer as he spoke to the crowd asking them to stand and sing along. Boy
it was fun!! Jeremy and Taylor showed us some of their guitar tricks. Sadly, I
didn’t manage to get any of their guitar picks as they threw them to the crowd.
As we headed back, Charmaine and
I was tone deaf, having sore feet, lost our voices and not to mention, sweaty.
It was a pretty good exercise. Lolololol!! Overall it was an awesome concert!!
Whee!!
Lastly, before I end this blog
post, I would wanna thank my sister for the wonderful tickets. I can’t thank
you enough for this opportunity. Thank you so much!! Love you so much!!
